Further development of smoothbore repeaters produced by Izhevsky Mekhanichesky Zavod. Unique gun for law enforcement and self-defence, which can operate both in semi-automatic and pump-action modes. Opportunity of using the gun in pump-action mode allows loading it with low-pulse traumatic rounds that have not enough power to actuate the gas engine.

MP-154 preserves the basic design features of MP-153 / MP-133 shotguns as follows:

• breech block attached directly to the barrel provides stable and durable lock and relieves the receiver when discharge takes place;
• receiver of high-strength aluminium alloy;
• gas-operated system;
• capacity of under-barrel tube magazine can be increased by extender.

The shotgun is available with fixed and screw-in chokes for steel and lead shot. Extra full (XF) screw-in choke is used with steel shot only.High-strength polymer stock and forend.
